From I -35 Take the Riverside exit and go west (towards downtown). Go to Congress Ave. and turn left. Go 15 blocks. Look for us on the right at 1506 between Guero's and Allen's Boots.

4. Is the name of the store "Lucy in Disguise with Diamonds" or "Electric Ladyland"?
Both. We started out as two stores next to each other and became one large (8,000 sq. ft.) emporium-type store.

5. How do I rent a costume?
There are two separate transactions. The Rental Price - which can be paid by check, cash, VISA, Mastercard, or debit card, and the Deposit - which can be a check, cash, VISA, or Mastercard but not a debit card, as this amount is held and returned to you when you return the costume.

6. How much does it cost to rent a costume?
Most costumes rent for $20 - $25, but you can also spend $50 - $75 for the really elaborate ones.

7. Do you give discounts to churches, schools, etc.?
Yes. Churches, schools, theatre groups, movie companies, local businesses, costume parties, musicians, and performing artists may recieve a 20% discount on rentals and sales. Volume discounts (more than 20%) must be handled by a manager.

No discounts are given on seasonal items during any "High Season", for example: Halloween costumes in October, Mardi Gras costumes during Carnaval season, Santa suits at Christmas, Easter Bunnies at Easter, etc.

With the exception of these "High Season" rules, we will meet or beat any competitor's price on similar items.

8. What if I need the costume for more than one day?
In October we have a special deal. Starting on the first Saturday of that month, you can rent your Halloween costume and take it with you (or pick it up then) and keep it until it is due on November 2 for a day-and-a-half rental. That is, if the rental price is $25 per day, for an additional 1/2 day's rental, or $12.50 (a total of $37.50) you will have the costume for the entire Halloween season. There are some exceptions. Renaissance costumes and "red-tagged" items (which are reserved ahead of time) are not included in the day-and-a-half deal.

In the off-season, we will work with you any time you want to keep a costume over the usual one-day rental period.

9. What if I rent a costume and then decide I want to keep it?
No problem. Call us. A one-day rental rate plus the deposit (which we hold with your paperwork) equals the sale price of that costume. If you paid more than a one-day rental (you took the day-and-a-half deal, for example) you will be refunded the half-day's rental, by mail if you wish.

10. What is your return policy?
Please refer to your copy of the signed rental paperwork contract and/or your receipt. Call the store at 512-444-2002 if you have further questions.

11. Are you Lucy?
No. Lucy is the owner's Border Collie, who loves to dress up, cover herself in faux diamonds, and sing along with the Beatles.
